Why one detail in this single image from Narelda Jacobs’ wedding has an incredibly special meaning for Channel Ten star

Channel 10 presenter Narelda Jacobs paid tribute to her Indigenous heritage as she married Karina Natt in a romantic wedding on Saturday.

The 48-year-old took to her Instagram to share a short clip showing the construction of a stunning flower arch at the ceremony.

The arch, constructed by Indigenous designer Teagan Murdock from Ngumpie Weaving, formed the centrepiece Narelda and Karina stood under to exchange vows.

The piece featured native flowers and feathers from an emu – a bird considered a totem animal for some Aboriginal groups.

The emu represents a sacred connection between humans and the natural world and symbolises resilience, strength, and survival.

Taking to Instagram to share a video of the stunning arch, Narelda wrote: ‘Teagan our event manager and wedding vibe creator!’

‘Thank you for creating our magnificent wedding arch, bouquets and table flowers featuring natives and emu feathers.’

Designer Teagan also shared the post and wrote: ‘What an honour it was to make this beautiful flower arch for @narelda_jacobs and @karinaalyce.’
