Why this image of an ordinary petrol station has divided Australia: ‘The people that do this suck’

Australians are divided over a man’s actions at a petrol pump after an image of him was shared on social media.

In the picture, the man is seen pulling up to the pumps from the side marked ‘no entry’ at a Shell petrol station in Murray Bridge, southeast of Adelaide,

The Aussie who shared the image spoke out in frustration, saying: ‘The people that do this suck, because when someone inevitably comes in the correct way, you’ve now created congestion.’

But his comment backfired, as thousands of Australians admitted to frequently entering the petrol station from the side marked ‘no entry’.

In the picture, the man is seen pulling up to the pumps from the side marked ‘no entry’ at a Shell petrol station

‘If that’s the only spare pump and my petrol cap is on that side, best believe I’m going to use it,’ one said.

‘I’m not waiting in a queue if there’s a spare pump,’ a second added.

‘The servo I often go to only has a diesel pump on one side. I always go in backwards,’ a third said.

While most defended the driver, others described the act as ‘self entitled’.

‘What’s so hard to understand about No Entry,’ one said.

‘The operator inside should use the microphone and tell him too go around and not release the fuel simple,’ a second added.

‘Park in front of them and make them have to reverse out,’ a third claimed.
