William Jackson Harper joins Marvel Cinematic Universe as he’s cast in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
William Jackson Harper has been cast in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
The 42-year-old actor is the latest to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, insiders told Variety, with his part ‘a closely guarded secret.’
Harper acknowledged his casting in a tweet Thursday, writing in response to the Variety piece, ‘Welp. Okay then.’
The latest: William Jackson Harper, 42, has been cast in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. He was snapped at Comic-Con in 2019 in San Diego
The Dallas native enters a star-studded cast that features Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas, who appeared in the predecessor movies Ant-Man in 2015 and Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018.
The actor was nominated for an Emmy for his work on as The Good Place on NBC, in which he played the role of Chidi Anagonye.
Harper has been seen on shows such as The Resort for Peacock, Love Life on HBO Max and The Breaks on VH-1.
He has also been seen on the Amazon Prime Video shows The Underground Railroad and Jack Ryan.

Harper was seen appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden earlier this year
Harper has been seen in movies including They Remain, We Broke Up and The Man in the Woods.
He has upcoming projects including the sci-fi movie Landscape with Invisible Hand; the Daria spinoff film Jodie opposite Tracee Ellis Ross; and the limited series on Netflix, A Man in Full.
Kathryn Newton is set to join the film franchise as Cassie Lang, the adult daughter of Rudd’s Scott Lang in the franchise, which details the Ant-Man family.
Ant-Man took in $180 million at the domestic box office and $519 million worldwide in 2015, according to Box Office Mojo. Ant-Man and the Wasp did even better at the box office in 2018, garnering $216 million domestically and $622 million worldwide.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is slated for release February 17, 2023.
