Wolves are under no financial pressure to sell captain Max Kilman this month amid growing interest in the centre-back from West Ham.
The Hammers have identified Kilman as one of their top priorities should Nayef Aguerd, who is currently preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco, leave the club in January.
Kilman was courted by Napoli last summer, with Wolves rejecting a bid of about £30million from the Italian champions.
Yet even though Wolves faced a battle to meet Financial Fair Play regulations last year, Mail Sport understands they are no such stresses in this transfer window.
Kilman also signed a new five-year contract with the club in August, which moved him closer to Wolves’ top earners – who are thought to collect about £90,000 per week.

Wolves also have an interest in West Ham forward Danny Ings but this is not believed to be dependent on any deal for Kilman, who was signed for just £40,000 from non-league Maidenhead in summer 2018.
The 26-year-old has been one of his team’s most consistent players for the last year, forming a strong central defensive partnership with Craig Dawson.
Despite a chaotic summer which saw former boss Julen Lopetegui leave Molineux less than a week before the start of the season, Wolves have thrived under Gary O’Neil.

Kilman signed a new five-year contract with the club in August, putting him up there as one of Wolves’ top earners on approximately £90,000 per week
O’Neil’s brief when he was hired was to keep Wolves in the league, after more than £100m worth of talent departed during the last transfer window.
The former Bournemouth boss has done an outstanding job, however, with Wolves currently 11th in the Premier League, well clear of the bottom three and only six points adrift of the Europa League spots.
