A mother is responsible for a murder-suicide that left four members of a Reno family dead this week, police said Friday as they continued their search for a motive.
Joan Huber, 53, shot her husband and their two teenage sons before taking her own life on Wednesday, Reno police said in a statement.
There’s no known motive, police said.
Authorities found the bodies Wednesday when they went to check on the family after relatives and friends hadn’t heard from them for several days, police said in a statement.

The victims were identified as 50-year-old Adam P. Huber, 17-year-old Adam J. Huber and 16-year-old Michael P. Huber.
Adam P. Huber, the father, was a master technician at the Reno Buick GMC car dealership.
He worked there since 2006, the dealership told the Reno Gazette Journal.
‘He has always been a valued member of our team,’ said Doreen Hicks, director of marketing for Reno Buick GMC.
‘We mourn the loss of him and his family. At this point, we are assisting the police with their investigation and we cannot comment further at this time.’
The teens were students at Damonte Ranch High School, which canceled athletic and other school activities Wednesday and made counselors available for students and staff.
The Irish Times reported Friday that Joan Huber is originally from a town near Killarney in County Kerry in southwestern Ireland.
The Times is reporting that Huber was the daughter of John Kelly, a well-known figure in County Kerry.
Officers were called to check on the home after relatives reported not seeing the married couple and their children for several days, according to KRNV News.
But when police arrived to do the welfare check, they discovered four dead bodies.
The two teenagers were students at Damonte Ranch High School – which issued a statement saying they had ‘died following a domestic situation in their home.’
‘We don’t know what led up to this. We didn’t have prior calls or anything like that,’ Sgt. John Silver told the Reno Gazette Journal.

‘We are still at the beginning stages,’ he said. ‘We need to determine exactly what happened.
‘We’re going to have to go through this whole house to make sure we cover all the bases and make sure our initial thoughts are accurate.’
The school the students attended have cancelled all athletic activities on Wednesday and are providing emotional support to staff and students.
‘Two of our students died following a domestic situation in their home. Reno police are investigating the case, and because this is an active investigation, I am not able to share any more details with you now,’ Damonte Ranch High School said in a statement to parents.
