Woman reveals her mother helps to breastfeed her 10-month-old daughter

Nurse reveals her MOTHER, 47, also breastfeeds her 10-month-old baby who is ‘constantly hungry’ and blasts strangers who have labelled it ‘weird and unnatural’

  • Mother Angela Owen, 47, never stopped lactating after her youngest was born
  • The first time occurred when Julia was in the shower and daughter needed a feed
  • In response to criticism, Julia argued, ‘what’s more natural than feeding a baby?’

A young woman has revealed both she and her mother breastfeed her daughter – despite strangers calling the shared regime ‘weird’.

Julia Cannons, 21, from St Louis, Missouri, and her mother Angela Owen, 47, who has five children of her own, both breastfeed her daughter Naomi, 10 months, and claim it helps to develop a ‘huge bond.’

Granny Angela, who was still lactating following the birth of her youngest child, started feeding baby Naomi when she was around four months old.

‘People say it’s weird, unnatural and gross,’ nurse Julia told The Sun. ‘But what is more natural than feeding a baby? It’s how we all started out. Wet-nursing has been around since the beginning of time.’

Julia, who has been breastfeeding from the beginning, told how Naomi would cluster feed all the time.

‘She wanted to be on the boob 24/7,’ she told the publication. ‘It was like a comfort thing.’

One day, the new mother was keen for a shower and to get out of the house, so headed over to her mother’s – which is when the feeding was shared for the first time.

‘I was in the shower and she needed a feed,’ explained Julia. ‘My mother had already asked me how I would feel about her breastfeeding Naomi. She still produces milk and we knew she still produces. I was okay with it.’

Nanny Angela, who is an over-producer, has been checked for any problems and had various scans, but no health problems have been detected.

And following the first time, the duo have continued to share the feeding between them, despite criticism from strangers.

On average, Angela now feeds her granddaughter a couple of times a month.

‘She likes to do it,’ Julia explained. ‘She’s been doing it about six months. We weren’t sure if Naomi would latch on but she did immediately. It was amazing. It is a huge, huge help for me.

‘I can sleep and get something to eat. A real bond has developed between the two of them.’
