A woman who stole more than $1million from a building and construction company to fund her lavish lifestyle has been jailed for six years.

Annabelle Martincic, 41, was sentenced on Friday in the WA District Court after she was found guilty of 185 counts of stealing by a jury earlier this year.

Among her extravagant purchases was a $2.7 million residence in an upscale Perth suburb, according to WA Today.

Martincic incrementally stole more than $1.14 million over the course of three years from M3 Building and Construction.

State prosecutor David Thiering told the court her offences were ‘all done to finance her lifestyle.’

‘All of this was planned and calculated. There is no evidence of contrition or remorse,’ he said.

The business was formed in 2013 by Martincic’s one-time partner Stewart Martincic, Marc Marusco and another director.

Annabelle Martincic volunteered to manage the company’s finances.

Two years later, Marusco started receiving calls from creditors, demanding to know where their money was.

Four months later, the business went into liquidation.

While Martincic claimed she and Mr Martincic had not been in a de-facto relationship since 2005, Judge Michael Gething said that their finances were closely integrated.

In 2014, she contributed $500,000 towards a three-storey home in Applecross while, Mr Martincic, the father of her three children, paid the $2.2 million mortgage.

Martincic will be eligible for parole after serving four years in jail.
