  • Victorian Health Department named four more locations after one new infection
  • Locations: Woolworths Broadmeadows Central and Ferguson Plarre Bakehouses
  • Pools: Elite Swimming Pascoe Vale and Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre
  • Anyone who has visited these four location should get tested and self-isolate 
  • Victoria was placed on a five day lockdown since 11.59pm on Friday

Melbourne has recorded two new local cases of Covid-19 and identified a number of potential exposure sites. 

Victoria’s list of COVID-19 exposure sites are growing longer as the Health Department named four more locations after one new infection was detected on Saturday. 

A man from Point Cook contracted the virus from an exiting case.

The entire state was plunged into lockdown from 11.59pm on Friday in response to an outbreak at Melbourne Airport’s Holiday Inn, which has grown to 13 cases. 

Four venues were added to Victoria’s ‘tier 1’ public exposure sites on Sunday morning. 

Elite Swimming Pascoe Vale, Pascoe Vale from 5pm to 6pm on February 8  

Woolworths Broadmeadows Central, Pascoe Vale Road from 12.15pm to 12.30pm on February 9

Ferguson Plarre Bakehouses, Broadmeadows from 12.30pm to 12.45pm on February 9 

Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre, Pascoe Vale from 4pm to 7.30pm on February 10

Anyone who has visited these sites is urged to self-isolate for 14 days and get a COVID-19 test.

NEW RESTRICTIONS FOR VICTORIA FROM 11.59PM ON FRIDAY FEB 12

From Friday February 12 at 11.59pm, new rules apply to Victoria for five days until 11.59pm on Wednesday February 17 due to a worrying new outbreak of the UK mutant strain of Covid-19.

  • Stage Four lockdown for the entire state
  • Only four essential reasons to leave the house – essential shopping, essential work/education, care-giving or two hours of exercise per day
  • All residents must stay within 5km of their home other than essential work or shopper
  • Outdoor exercise must be with your household, intimate partner or one other person not from your household 
  • Mandatory masks everywhere except your home
  • No visitors to anyone’s home
  • All non-essential shops will be closed 
  • Public gatherings banned
  • Work from home
  • Schools closed except for vulnerable children
  • Places of worship closed
  • Weddings banned 
  • Funerals capped at 10 people 
  • Community spaces including swimming pools and libraries closed
