11-year-old Carly Gibson goes missing again after disappearing over New Year’s period

Girl, 11, who vanished for five days over New Year’s goes missing for the second time in two weeks

  • The 11-year-old first went missing on December 29 and was found five days later
  • Police said Carly may be in Lake Macquarie, Newcastle or Edgeworth areas
  • She was last seen sporting yellow midriff top, grey cardigan and a denim skirt 

An 11-year-old girl has gone missing for the second time in less than two weeks.

Dora Creek-local Carly Gibson was last seen at a house at Gradwells Road just before 6.30pm on Monday.

Lake Macquarie Police Command officers were alerted when she failed to return home.

Her disappearance marks the second time she has gone missing in two weeks.

The first time around she was last seen at a house at Joslin Street in Kotara, Newcastle on December 29.

Police then found the missing girl at Edgeworth on January 3. 

Only four days later, the 11-year-old disappeared again.

Carly was last seen sporting a yellow midriff top, grey cardigan, denim skirt, black hat, blue and pink tie-dye socks and black boots. 

She is between 145-150cm tall of medium build and has blonde hair and blue eyes. 

Police said they have reason to believe the girl may still be in the Lake Macquarie, Newcastle or Edgeworth areas.
