Disruptive easyJet passenger is escorted off flight

This is the moment a woman on an Easyjet flight heading for Britain was escorted off by police – after forcing the plane to be diverted 800 miles.

Staff on board the flight from the Spanish resort of Alicante to Liverpool claimed the blonde female was being disruptive after drinking her own alcohol.

Flight EZY7124 was forced to make an emergency landing in Bordeaux, France, on Friday night after the incident occurred.

Passengers looked on in disbelief as the woman, who was sat near the front of the plane, kicked off.

And one eyewitness filmed the moment French police arrived and escorted her off the plane.

Catherine Skelhorn from Page Moss, Merseyside, was on the flight travelling back from two weeks in Benidorm

Catherine, 68, said: ‘I was going asleep when I heard the captain say were were making a emergency landing.- I jumped up when I heard that.

‘There was a lot of commotion near the front as the crew were speaking to a women, when we landed the police came on the plane, they tried to speak to her but took her off and put her in a police car.

‘They found an empty bottle under her seat.

‘She was a small blonde woman, there were several rumours flying round but I’m not sure what to believe.’

Airline bosses said the female passenger became disruptive when she was approached by cabin crew while drinking booze that she had brought on board.

Another passenger, who gave his name only as Tony, said: ‘We saw the police getting on the plane and going over to the woman.

‘When we were told the flight would be making an emergency landing we presumed someone had taken ill on board.

‘She could have put us in danger behaving like that on a plane.’

Those on board were forced to wait for more than two hours before they could continue their journey to the city.

A spokesperson for Easyjet said: ‘Easyjet can confirm that flight EZY7124 from Alicante to Liverpool diverted to Bordeaux due to a passenger on board behaving disruptively.

‘The safety and welfare of our passengers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority. easyJet’s crew are trained to assess and evaluate all incidents.

‘Police met the aircraft on landing and the passenger was escorted from the aircraft.
