Doctors accuse mummy blogger of giving ‘garbage’ advice after insisting she rid herself of cancer

Doctors have debunked a mummy blogger’s claim that she rid herself of cancer by eating vegan meals, calling it ‘utter garbage’.

Loni Jane Anthony, 28, said she healed herself from ‘abnormal cancerous cells’ in her cervix by eating a ‘plant-based diet’, and using charcoal and watermelon.

The Queensland-based social media influencer posts photos of her alleged ‘medicine’ to more than 400,000 followers on Instagram.

Gynaecologist Dr Michael Gannon said Anthony’s advice was ‘utter garbage’.

‘These claims are harmful to those women who are silly enough to listen to them,’ Dr Gannon told the Daily Telegraph.

Australian Medical Association New South Wales president Dr Kean-Seng Lim said Anthony’s sharing of her ‘medicines’ was concerning.

‘The word medicine implies that it has been tested,’ Dr Lim said.

‘While some home remedies may be harmless, others can be detrimental or delay someone from seeing a doctor.’

Anthony had previously claimed she had ‘healed’ herself from candida overgrowth, inflamed lymph nodes, HPV virus and fatigue.

She feeds her children a raw vegan diet, and has posted a recipe for what she claims is a ‘home antibiotics/antiviral medicine’ to combat the flu.

‘I want everyone to make their own medicine and heal from it,’ she said.

‘The day I made the conscious decision to live a plant-based lifestyle, my life changed for the better.

‘Complete healing didn’t happen overnight, but every day I would feel and see improvement. It had taken years to get as unwell as I was, so I had to be patient and let my body heal with time, and that is exactly what I did, took one day at a time.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Anthony for comment.
