MAFS star Patrick says he feels ‘rejected’ sexually by Charlene

They were supposed to be the Married AT First Sight golden couple this season.

But MAFS ‘husband’ Patrick revealed that his marriage to Charlene may not be going as smoothly as it seems, having bemoaned a lack of intimacy during a one-on-one chat with co-star Sarah on Monday night’s episode.

The 34-year-old appeared to confirm the couple had yet to have sex, as he said: ‘I’d love to do ‘it’, but if I get shut down, I’ll probably run out the door.’

While they appear as one of the show’s favourite remaining couples, he offered: ‘Charlene and I, intimacy hasn’t been one of our strong points. I need… that connection.’

Patrick confronted Charlene later in the episode, beginning: ‘Well, you know, the intimacy side, it’s something that we’ve lacked a little bit of.’

Charlene acknowledged the lack of intimacy and later confessed to producers: ‘When we’re kissing or things like that – although it doesn’t happen that often – he’ll kind of initiate it and then I don’t really want it to go any further than that. Which is awful.’

Patrick later told the camera in frustration: ‘I think anything related to sex and trying to speak about it with Charlene, it never gets received in a good way. She cringes every time she hears ‘sex’ and it makes me feel a bit cr** inside, it makes me feel a bit rejected.’

While Charlene was having a one-on-one chat with ‘alpha male’ Dean Wells, he questioned her authentic connection with Patrick.

When PDA, intimacy and sex came up, she quipped: ‘On this experiment, if sex is the measure of success, then hashtag failure.’

‘OK. I think he judges Pat and I on the fact that we are not rooting like rabbits. We have our struggles and I know what they are. But you know what, glass houses, mate,’ she said, pointing to Dean’s controversial ‘affair’ scandal with co-star Davina on the show.

Angered, Charlene added: ‘Don’t go talking about other people’s relationships when clearly there’s a whole lot of cr** going on in your own.’
