A man has died and two others are in serious condition after two separate stabbings in Melbourne.
The unidentified man was found with stab wounds at the entrance to a block of flats on Courtney St in North Melbourne around 4.45am on Thursday.
He was rushed to hospital, but died a few hours later.
A police investigation is under way.

Four hours earlier, two men were stabbed during an altercation with a group of men on a suburban Melbourne street.
Police say they were attacked when they refused to hand over money to the five to six men who confronted them in Nobel Park about 1am on Thursday.
The wounded men are in hospital in a serious condition, while police search for the gang that fled the scene with some cash.
It is unknown if the incidents are related.
