Michelle Keegan on Mark Wright: Actress has no plans to join her husband in LA

They have embarked on a long-distance marriage, ever since he moved to the States in September.

But despite missing her husband, Michelle Keegan has revealed she has no plans to join Mark Wright and move to Los Angeles.

Speaking on Lorraine, the actress, 30, admitted she was ‘gutted’ Mark could not attend her recent fashion show for Very, but that she loves living in the UK too much to move – and simply ensures the pair visit each other every three weeks.

The former Coronation Street star debuted her new ‘self-inspired’ collection for the brand at London’s One Marylebone on Tuesday, as one of Very’s ambassadors.

However, speaking at the shoot to presenter Mark Hayes, Michelle revealed she had missed Mark at the show – but that they combat the distance with regular visits.

She said: ‘I was gutted. I would have loved Mark to be at the fashion show, but he’s in LA.

‘We try not to go three weeks without seeing each other, but it can sometimes be four or five weeks.’ 

While she felt her husband’s absence at her fashion show, the beauty added that she still has no set plans to move to Los Angeles, although she loves the lifestyle in the States.

She continued: ‘I always say I wouldn’t move out there to LA. But you know what, I don’t know. I love living in the UK.’

Before adding of their recent glamorous evening at the Oscars: ‘We were pinching ourselves! We were nicking the napkins, putting them in our bags. And there was a free bar, so my dad was enjoying that. We had such a great time.’ 

She also revealed she loves the health and fitness focus in LA, which encourages her to go to the gym more to ‘de-stress’.

‘I love the healthy lifestyle out there, it forces me to get to the gym, even though I don’t want to,’ she explained.

‘I like it, but I like coming home. I go to the gym purely to de-stress. I’m not the type of person who goes to the gym and goes, ‘Oh, I love the gym’. No I don’t, I hate it. But the feeling afterwards…you feel great.’

However, she affirmed that she and Mark never work out together, as they have completely different tastes when it comes to exercise. 

She added with a laugh: ‘I took him into a yoga class when I was in LA once – he walked out halfway through. He didn’t like it, not for him at all!

‘Don’t get me wrong, we go to the gym sometimes together, but I will do my thing and he will do his thing.’   

While they make the most of the glamorous LA lifestyle, Michelle revealed she and Mark prefer to relish their time together, and mostly relax at his Stateside home.

She said: ‘We sometimes like to chill out, in PJs, and get a takeaway. Or we’ll have a date night.’ 

Mark currently works as a presenter for entertainment channel Extra, while Michelle has released her latest clothing collection amid her hectic acting schedule.  

Gushing about her new line with Very, the brunette said: ‘I’m so excited. It’s amazing, but it’s so nerve wracking.’ 

Despite her foray into fashion, Michelle added that she has been auditioning for roles over in the States, with ‘stage and film’ her dream for the future.
