EXCLUSIVE: ‘We drove past Surry Hills Holding Cells and he was quite distressed’: Roxy Jacenko reveals husband Oliver Curtis still struggles to overcome his jail stint and describes it as the ‘worst time of his life’ (pictured heading to court before being sent to prison)

‘We don’t really talk about it, he has said previously it’s something he has blocked out of his mind,’ DU’IT ambassador Roxy began.

‘Just last weekend when we drove past Surry Hills Holding Cells after a meal and he was quite distressed, he mentioned being in there was the worst two weeks of his life.’

‘I’m told these cells are usually for Prisoners for 24-48 hours, for him, it was two weeks and something he never wants to remember,’ Roxy said.

Oliver served the majority of time at Cooma Correctional Centre, as well as Parklea Correctional Centre, and two weeks at the Holding Cells in Surry Hills.

Roxy said that her and her man are in a much better place now, since his release in June last year.

‘Life is incredibly different for me, only yesterday I said to Oli what a difference what 12 months makes, I remember VIVIDLY the mind-set I was in last Anzac Day and it was terrible,’ she said.

‘It was the day things for me personally really started to unravel – I look now and am so fortunate to have someone who has my back and puts myself the family ahead of himself.’

She added: ‘In fact Oli helped me in the office yesterday when really he could have been out enjoying the day with friends.’

Roxy and Oliver share two children together, Pixie, six, and Hunter, three.

In February, she told Daily Mail Australia that she finally told Pixie that her father spent time in jail, after having told her he was away in business in China in a bid to protect her.

‘I needed to tell her that I lied, and that lying wasn’t the right thing to do – but in the circumstance I was in, I needed to do it,’ Roxy said.
