A look at all the rings The Bachelors gave to the winners

A sneak peek of The Bachelor finale hints at the possibility that Matty ‘J’ Johnson will pop the question to his chosen one tonight.

The preview, which first aired on Wednesday night, dramatically displayed what appeared to be an engagement ring.

With a mystery lingering over whether Matty J will present the sparkler to either Elise Stacy or Laura Byrne, Daily Mail Australia takes a trip down memory lane to revisit the rings each Bachelor gifted their leading ladies in previous seasons.

From bling eventually auctioned off to jewellery that inspired a host of hilarious memes, we look back at each ring season by season.

The inaugural season of The Bachelor Australia brought plenty of big drama, big romance and one big sparkling ring.

In the tear-jerking finale, Tim Robards chose blonde stunner Anna Heinrich and offered her a ring that he designed himself.

‘I got you a little gift to acknowledge the journey that we’ve been on together,’ he told her as she teared up in the romantic moment.

‘This ring has two bands of platinum that travel together, symbolising our relationship through this journey in an infinite loop.’

The lucky lady also scored another ring in May this year, when Tim popped the question for real.

Blake Garvey and Sam Frost (Season two)

While Blake Garvey and Sam Frost’s engagement was ill-fated – he notoriously dumped her immediately after the finale for second runner-up Louise Pillidge – the ring was a stunner.

In the dramatic season two finale, Blake got down on one knee to present Sam with a 3.01 carat cushion-cut Bunda worth an estimated $58,000.

After she was humiliated by being publicly dumped by Blake, Sam admitted the circumstances surrounding the ring had tainted it for her, despite its beauty.

‘It’s never been worn, apart from photo purposes. It spends the days and nights locked in a safe and apparently worth $58,000 as I’m constantly reminded,’ she revealed on her blog at the time.

The reality star eventually auctioned off the piece for a fraction of its price, selling it for $31,720.

In season three, Sam Wood confessed his undying love for single mum Snezana Markoski.

But it wasn’t his heartfelt declaration that made the most headlines after the rose petal-filled finale aired.

Instead, that honour went to the ring Sam slipped on the brunette beauty’s finger – and it drew attention for all the wrong reasons.

Viewers were quick to decry the jewellery piece as ‘gaudy’ and described it as resembling a ‘Cheezel’.

The ring spawned a flood of hilarious memes on social media and Sam later admitted on a Nova radio interview that he ‘copped a fair bit of flak for the ring’.

These days, the couple are engaged and have swapped the Cheezel for a more sophisticated sparkler.

Though last season’s lovebirds Richie Strahan and Alex Nation have since called it quits, their adoration for one another was at an all-time high in 2016.

Not willing to pop the question so soon into their relationship, Richie offered Alex a promise ring during the season four finale as a symbol of his love.

The white gold sparkler featured a diamond encrusted double band with a halo diamond set in between.

When the blonde bombshell was spotted without the ring adorning her finger earlier this year, whispers of the pair’s break up began to get louder, with Alex and Richie eventually confirming the split.

It's over! While the ring was stunner, the relationship between Richie and Alex wasn't to last
