Actress, 23, tells jurors how she was ‘sexually assaulted and thrown onto the subway tracks’

A 23-year-old actress has recalled the horrifying moment a man sexually assaulted her before throwing her onto subway tracks in New York City after she rejected his advances.

Bonnie Currie was waiting for the No. 1 train in Manhattan’s West Village when a strange man wearing an orange vest grabbed her crotch.

Currie yelled at the man to get away and then he shoved her onto the tracks at the West 14th Street and Sixth Avenue station around 4.20am in April 2017.

Two days later, Kimani Stephenson, 25, was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Currie told jurors on Friday during Stephenson’s trial that she ‘was grabbed from behind’.

‘He had one hand on my breast and the other in my crotch area, and he pulled me into his body,’ Currie recalled, according to the New York Post.

‘I told him to f**k off and then he threw me onto the train tracks,’ she said of the alleged attack.

After Stephenson allegedly tossed her onto the tracks, he asked: ‘Why you bugging, b***h?’

Fortunately, two people at the station heard her screams and were able to pull her off the tracks.

At the time Currie told CBS: ‘I put my arms up, and one man took one arm, and the other took the other, and they pulled me up out of the track.’

The petite 5’4 actress was later taken to Northwell Health Lenox Hill Hospital to be treated for a broken left wrist, a torn ligament in her left shoulder and deep bruising in her left femur.

The cameras at the West 14th Street station were not working at the time, but Stephenson was arrested after a neighbor from his Lower East Side housing project recognized his face from a surveillance photo and called police.

Defense attorney David Kapner said in court on Friday that the cops got the wrong guy.

Kapner claimed that Currie, who had six drinks before the incident, gave vague and conflicting descriptions of her assailant, according to the Post.

He also said his client’s DNA was not found on her clothes.

Currie is an actress and is currently a server according to recent Instagram posts. She lives in Washington Heights in north Manhattan.

The trial against her alleged attacker continues Monday.
