Alan Carr became a meme after he launched into a hilarious rendition of BFF Adele’s hit Make You Feel My Love during her ITV special,  An Audience with Adele on Sunday.

The presenter, 45, led proceedings at the musical extravaganza, where Adele performed her biggest hits.

Before Adele temporarily rushed off-stage to fix her make-up after breaking down in tears,  she cried out: ‘Alan, you wanna come and talk for five minutes while he fixes my face?’

The star humorously added as she walked off-stage: ‘Sing us a song, play Make You Feel My Love and Alan will sing it.’ 

Alan rose to the challenge as he called out to the star-studded audience: ‘This is for all the lovers.’

The star began singing the hit song in an off-key style, leaving fans in stitches.

However, it wasn’t long before the crowd sang along with the ballad and numerous memes were spawned.

Adele brought her trademark mix of glamour, anguish and humour to her An Audience With Adele ITV special- as a make-up artist touched up her face after she cried.

The singer broke down in tears while onstage as she was surprised by her old school teacher Miss McDonald who taught her at Chestnut Grove School in Balham.

The emotional encounter left Adele needing a quick breather, with her make-up artist Anthony Nguyen re-applying her foundation.

Fans at the London Palladium show saw actress Emma Thompson ask the superstar who had inspired her when she was young.

Adele opened up about the impact the year eight teacher had on her, after which Emma revealed that she was actually in the audience.   

Adele said: ‘Yeah I had a teacher at Chestnut Grove who taught me English. That was Miss McDonald. She left when I was in year eight. It was just one year, but she got me really into literature. I’ve always been obsessed with English and obviously now I write lyrics.

Emma then announced the star’s teacher was in the audience, with Miss McDonald saying: ‘Thank you for remembering me.’

The singer said she felt ’emotional’ to be back on stage in the UK for the first time in four years as she performed for the likes of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Emma Watson, David Tennant, Naomi Campbell, Daniel Kaluuya and Catherine O’Hara. 

Her sports agent boyfriend Rich Paul also joined the crowd of A-listers and the singer’s family and friends. 

Dawn French, Stormzy, Gareth Southgate and Samuel L Jackson were among those to watch the Someone Like You star live. 

Adele was forced to restart hit single Easy On Me after her nerves got the better of her during her star-studded Audience With on Sunday evening. 

However, she admitted she was ‘sh***ing’ herself when it came to performing her latest number one single and chose to restart her song after an uncharacteristic stumble. 

Viewers watched as the backing band abruptly halted and she stopped to sip on a cup of chamomile tea before restarting the track, much to the delight of her audience.

Taking to the stage, Adele admits: ‘I got really emotional. I haven’t been home for so long and I haven’t played a show here for so long.

‘I’m very, very nervous! Course I b****y am.

‘I’m a big fan of An Audience With – it used to be the highlight of my life whenever it was on- I’m so thrilled to be doing it tonight, very very excited.’ 

Adele hasn’t performed a concert in the UK since her Wembley Stadium shows in June 2017. 

But, she is set to make a comeback next year, having recently announced live shows in London in 2022. 

The lucky celebrities who got to see her live once again shared their excitement ahead of filming for the show.   

‘I’m just so excited to see one of the greatest singers of all time.’ Emma Thompson said, who attended with husband Greg Wise. 

Andrew Lloyd Webber added he thinks Adele is ‘one of the great originals.’ 

The singer has been celebrating this week after rave reviews flooded in at the release of her new album on Friday. 

Inspired by her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki, the record received a score of 89 out of 100 on Metacritic, indicating ‘universal acclaim’ from reviewers while fans took to social media in droves to praise the release and share crying memes to react to the stars powerful lyrics.   

#Adele30 became a trending topic on Twitter immediately after the album was released with fans the world over praising the record.
