Alyson Hannigan is cheered on by her former How I Met Your Mother co-star Cobie Smulders after Dancing With The Stars reveal

Looks like Alyson Hannigan can count on a vote from her former How I Met Your Mother co-star Cobie Smulders as she prepares to compete on Dancing With The Stars.

Cobie, 41, cheered her pal on after Hannigan, 49, revealed she would be competing on the upcoming season of the show on Instagram.

‘So happy to announce I’ll be on @dancingwiththestars this season! #DWTS,’ Alyson posted.  

‘Yes,’ Cobie commented, along with a flame, applause, and heart emoji.

The duo appear to have remained friends after starring together on the hit comedy series, which ended after nine seasons back in 2014.

Alyson also garnered support from pal Jason Biggs, who posted ‘Let’s goooooo.’

Even competitor Ariana Madix chimed in with an uplifting message: ‘You are going to slay so hard!’

The post contained a snap of Alyson in her dancing gear, along with another of her with her professional dance partner Sasha Farber, 41. 

The official cast for Dancing with the Stars 2023 was finally confirmed on Wednesday, with the likes of Jamie Lynn Spears and Kyle Richards’ estranged husband Mauricio Umansky hitting the dance floor.

The full line-up for the 32nd season was announced on Good Morning America ahead of the grand return of the ABC competition series on September 26.

Dancing with the Stars hosts Alfonso Ribeiro, 51, and professional dancer Julianne Hough, 35, were on hand to unveil this year’s cohort, alongside judge Bruno Tonioli, 57.

‘We’re going to have a lot of fun,’ Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air alum Alfonso teased. ‘This whole season is about letting all of these incredible celebrities shine and really just have their moment in the sun and just enjoy it.’

Alyson, who also starred in the American Pie franchise with Jason Biggs, revealed she kept her place on the line-up completely schtum .

‘I kept things under wraps very seriously,’ Alyson admitted. ‘I didn’t even tell one of my best friends.

‘I just texted her last night saying, “watch GMA tomorrow”.’

In 2003, Alyson married her Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Alexis Deniso, with the couple parents to daughters Satyana Marie and Keeva Jane.

Tyson Beckford, Adrian Peterson, Barry Williams, Charity Lawson, Harry Jowsey, Jason Mraz, Lele Pons, Matt Walsh, Mira Sorvino, and Xochitl Gomez were all also announced as contestants.
