Aussie megastar Chris Hemsworth charms megafans who travelled ten hours to meet him

Chris Hemsworth has proved himself a bit of a local hero since moving to Broken Hill in New South Wales to film the Mad Max prequel Furiosa last month.

The 38-year-old megastar has regularly been seen out and about in the Outback city, chatting up residents and visitors.

And on Friday morning Chris proved once again why he is one is one of Australia’s most down to earth stars, when he stopped to sign autographs with a group of superfans.

Jake Wagenfeller told the Daily Mail that he and his friends had travelled ten hours to Broken Hill on the off chance they might get to meet their hero.

Chris had just finished breakfast at 10:30am, with his wife Elsa Pataky, 45, when the fans approached the star on a street in Broken Hill.

Elsa and Chris then spent ten minutes chatting to the fans, posing for pictures and signing autographs.

Both stars were rugged up for the frigid outback winter.

Chris, looking rugged in stumble, baseball cap and dark glasses, wore a thick, fleece parka over a black hoodie, and dark trousers.

Meanwhile, Elsa looked amazing in a beige jumper, and gorgeous leather and wool bomber jacket.

Wearing her long blonde hair out, she topped off the casual ensemble with sunglasses.

According to The Daily Telegraph, a number of the locals have already encountered the Hollywood star and by all accounts Chris is winning them over with his charm.

‘He was walking up and down the street, everyone was shaking his hand and asking for a photo and that is going right along our main street,’ a source revealed.

Chris’ wife Elsa has been seen around town, too.

Chris’ co-star Anya Taylor-Joy, of The Queen’s Gambit, has also relocated to the town.

Last year, former NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian announced the highly anticipated Mad Max prequel would be filmed locally.

By late last month, production on the film was well and truly underway.

Large marquees and trailers had been spotted in the Australian outback town in New South Wales.

The prequel’s biggest stars, including Anya Taylor-Joy, along with the film’s director George Miller, arrived in Broken Hill in early May.

Also spotted in the outback location were some of the modified vehicles set to appear in the film, including what appeared to be a vintage car with a machine gun mounted to the roof and a tow truck with a harpoon gun attached.

Anya, 26, was last week spotted boarding a private jet at Sydney Airport for Broken Hill with the director.

The Queen’s Gambit actress is shooting Furiosa with the likes of Tom Burke and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, with the film slated for a 2024 release.

She will star as a young Imperator Furiosa, the war captain previously played by Charlize Theron in 2015 blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road.
