Australian Ninja Warrior’s Olivia Vivian and Ben Polson announce shock split after five years together

Australian Ninja Warrior couple Olivia Vivian and Ben Polson have announced they have split after five years together.

Speaking to New Idea on Monday, Olivia, 33, said her split from Ben has been ‘heartbreaking’.

‘Our relationship was loving, respectful and fun, but in that last year, we started to want different things and drifted apart,’ the former Olympic gymnast told the publication.

‘It wasn’t messy. Things just fizzled out romantically and we became companions rather than lovers,’ she insisted.

While their split was amicable, with both parties moving out of the home they rented together, it was a decision that didn’t come easy.

‘I started to kind of go… she’s obviously very good looking. She’s got that personality. She’s a bit out there. She’s just herself,’ he said.

‘She doesn’t care what anyone else thinks and I was really attracted to that… and here we are.’

Meanwhile, Olivia, told The West Australian that their first meeting at the Ninja academy, which should have lasted for just 60 minutes, turned into a seven-hour chat.

‘Two other members didn’t show up, and this one-hour meeting went for seven hours. We didn’t get any work done, it was just that connection,’ she recalled.

Ben said of their romantic first date at Perth’s Cottesloe Beach: ‘We had fish and chips, watched the sunset, went for a swim and may or may not have watched The Bachelorette.’
