Bachelor Nation’s Kaitlyn Bristowe held a ‘funeral service’ and ‘fake burial’ for Jason Tartick split

Kaitlyn Bristowe has revealed that she held a ‘funeral service’ and ‘fake burial’ following her 2023 split from former fiancé Jason Tartick.

The 39-year-old media personality made the bizarre revelation while speaking to Amanda Hirsch during the latest episode of her Off The Vine podcast.

‘[I had a] little funeral service — like a fake burial,’ she spilled, adding, ‘I did it alone. I didn’t bury anything. It was all mental.’

She explained, ‘It’s more of a visual practice and it is to say your goodbyes and make a little peace with it. It shifts something in the ol’ brain. It really does do something in your brain.’

It comes one year after the former couple announced their breakup on social media.

Bristowe and Tartick, 35, got engaged in May 2021 after a two-year courtship.

The former Bachelorette star confessed that the mock burial didn’t fully get her over the relationship, but she said that it was helpful.

After meeting during an interview on her podcast, Bristowe began dating Tartick in January 2019.

In a joint Instagram post last summer, the two stars shared a loved-up photo to announce the end of their relationship.

They wrote, ‘After sharing the news with family and close friends first, and taking the time to properly process it ourselves, we are saddened with heavy hearts to share that we have decided to end our engagement.’

The pair continued, ‘We are thankful for all of you who gave us the time and space to process this life altering decision as there are many emotions and changes to navigate.’

Addressing their pets, they added, ‘Our dogs Ramen & Pinot will continue to be cared for together as brothers. While their humans are no longer romantically involved, we will love and take care of them together.’

They emphasized, ‘Continuing our friendship is incredibly important to both of us. We feel grateful to be ending our engagement with love and respect for each other.’

Shortly after the broken engagement, Kaitlyn took to Instagram to give fans an update.

She shared a carousel of images with a short but heartfelt caption.

‘Not to spoil the ending for you. But you’re going to be OK [HEART-EMOJI],’ she captioned photos of herself in various emotional states — including a picture of her crying.

The comments on the post were turned off, but it received more than 100,000 likes at the time.

Included in the roundup of images was a snapshot of the star softly smiling in a selfie, as well as a contrasting photo that showed Bristowe with a hand over half her face as she wept.

Jason has since moved on with YouTube star Kat Stickler, confirming their relationship this past April after months of speculation.
