He’s from one of Australia’s most privileged families and recently won the heart of the country’s most eligible woman, Sophie Monk.
But life hasn’t always been smooth sailing for Stu Laundy, the publican revealing he previously spent time in a treatment facility for stress and anger management.
‘I absolutely suffered depression. I am far from perfect,’ the 44-year-old father of four told The Saturday Telegraph.

Stu said he went into treatment at the request of his former wife Rachel after their marriage broke down in 2013.
The publican, who is heir to a $500 million family fortune, sought treatment for ‘a mixture of stress and anger management’ which also left him feeling depressed.
‘I am not really an angry guy but we had a testing three years prior, heavy workload and work commitments for me and, I guess, a stressful marriage, young children, for me it was more depression when I was inside,’ Stu confessed.

Stu said while he might have a joker personality, during those dark times he struggled with his mental health.
‘I absolutely suffered depression. I am far from perfect. The stupid, funny situations I’ve found myself in life, I am a little bit the clown of the family and the mischief I get myself up to is good for laughs. I am a work in progress, there’s no doubt about it,’ he said.
The Bachelorette winner previously opened up to Daily Mail Australia about the two years after his marriage ended, revealing he got stuck in a cycle of dating and boozing after their split.

‘It was this vicious cycle I was in for two years. My biggest regret was I didn’t say no. I just didn’t say no to drinking, to having a big night,’ Stu said.
He also admitted to being a serial dater, adding: ‘I was dating like I was dating for Australia.’
‘The dating world has totally changed. It’s the Tinder revolution and it was a shock! But I was also sick of that life. It was totally vacuous,’ Stu said.

Meanwhile, Stu has also addressed rumours he has enhanced his appearance, admitting he had Botox prior to going on The Bachelorette.
‘We went and got a few injections. It was something stupid friends do on the drink and right now you are seeing the back end of that on my forehead. It is a juvenile boys’ story,’ he told News Corp.
