Bayern Munich chiefs ‘jet to London for fresh Harry Kane talks with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy – and are willing to pay £86m to get their top target’

Bayern Munich have sent two of their top executives to London as they step up their pursuit of Tottenham talisman Harry Kane. 

According to the Daily Telegraph, Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen and technical director Marco Neppe are set for new rounds of talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy following the club’s return from Singapore. 

Levy has proven characteristically stubborn to deal with for the Bayern pair, who have opted to meet with him instead of travelling with the German champions on their tour of Asia. 

Kane, who has 12 months remaining on his contract, is believed to be interested in a move to the Bavarian giants. 

While Bayern finally made their admiration of the England skipper public earlier this week when president Herbert Hainer described Kane as an ‘attractive player’.

Daniel Levy values Kane at £100m despite the striker’s age and remaining length of contract

‘Bayern always try to bring in stars. Harry Kane is a highly attractive player,’ he told Kicker, the German football magazine. ‘The England captain and a top scorer. He would do us and the Bundesliga good.’

Tottenham value Kane at £100m and while Bayern are unlikely to meet that figure, the German champions are hopeful they can negotiate a fee.

All parties will be in favour of resolving the situation as quickly as possible with the clock ticking until the opening weekend of the new season.  

Speaking on their pre-season tour, Ange Postecoglou admitted the continued speculation surrounding Kane’s future is not helpful for their preparations for the new campaign.

‘Fair to say I am not relaxed about it,’ said Postecoglou. ‘It’s not something where you go: “Ah, well, you know if it does or doesn’t happen.” I mean he’s a very important part of this football club, not just the team, but the football club. He’s such a massive figure.
