A 32-year-old woman and 33-year-old man were also found, with initial reports that they were both uninjured.

Police reported, however, that the 32-year-old, birthday girl, had a minor wound.

At about 10.30pm on Monday night, police attended the apartment after reports of people arguing.

Kuring-Gai Superintendent Jenny Scholz said ‘there was a large amount of blood in the common areas of the apartment building.’

The scenes were confronting to residents, with one man questioning the safety of the building in an interview with Nine News.

‘I came out from our door to find this lady totally covered in blood and riding on the floor of the elevator car,’ another man told Nine News

Paramedics treated the injured woman at the scene and took her to Hornsby Hospital.
