Calico cat Reese survives after being shot by an arrow

A cat from Florida is recovering after being shot with an arrow through the neck and leg, narrowly missing major organs.

Poor little Reese collapsed on her front porch on Sunday afternoon after being deliberately wounded with the 18-inch long weapon that was left sticking out from her body.

Owner, Jane Morris, is now offering a $200 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person that carried out the cruel act, that may see her having her paw amputated.

‘The arrow missed all her major organs which is a miracle,’ Morris said to ClickOrlando.

Morris had just walked outside and was heading for the store when the cat ran up onto the front porch, right past her, and collapsed.

She rushed her beloved pet to DeLand Animal Hospital where a veterinarian told her that someone had intentionally shot Reese, a Calico cat, from the front.

The feline is back home recovering after Morris said the arrow broke her shoulder bone and leg.

Morris has spent $800 so far on Reese’s medical bills and the costs could rise further still if Reese has to have her paw removed.

‘Pets are part of our family, you know, so we’ll do what we can to save her,’ Morris said.

The family believe the archer who shot the arrow lives close by because Reese doesn’t typically stray far from her home.

Morris is now concerned about her family’s safety, the safety of other pets, people and children in the area.

‘What worries me is they start with cats. What are they going to do next?’ Morris said to WESH.

Although Morris said she filed a police report, no arrests have been made in the case.
