Chelsea Clinton slams former friend Ivanka Trump over her father’s ‘racism’

Chelsea Clinton has revealed that she hasn’t spoken with her former friend Ivanka Trump since 2016 while slamming the President’s eldest daughter for being ‘complicit’ and ‘actively embracing’ her father’s ‘racism,’ ‘sexism,’ and ‘lies.’

The former First Daughter, 40, joined Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday night when she was asked to address her relationship with Ivanka, 38, who became a White House senior adviser shortly after the election.

‘I’ve not spoken to [Ivanka] since 2016, and I have no interest in being friends with someone who is not only complicit but actively taking part in this administration’s every day collision of cruelty and incompetence,’ Chelsea said. ‘That’s the answer.’

Prior to the election – during which Trump defeated Chelsea’s mother, Democratic candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton – Chelsea and Ivanka had enjoyed a long-term friendship.

The two women were known to have been friends for years and would reportedly go on double dates with their respective husbands Marc Mezvinsky and Jared Kushner while they were both living in New York City.

But their bond was put to the test when their parents faced off in the 2016 presidential election, which saw Trump and Clinton sling numerous insults at one another, both personally and politically.

Trump even went as far as threatening to put his Democratic rival in jail if he won the election, even though he had no grounds to do so.

While Chelsea and Ivanka initially claimed while out on their respective campaign trails that their friendship would survive the election, it did not — and Chelsea made it clear during her latest interview that the once-warm relationship she shared with Ivanka is far beyond saving.

‘We were in touch at the beginning of the campaign,’ Chelsea explained, before launching into a furious tirade against Ivanka for ‘actively embracing’ her father’s ‘corrupt’ administration.

‘But it’s just really hard when there’s someone who’s actively embracing their candidate — whether it’s their father or not — who is trafficking in racism and sexism and anti-semitism and Islamophobia and homophobia and transphobia and conspiracy theories and lies and is so fundamentally corrupt.

‘I don’t think [Ivanka and her father] are the same by any standard,’ she added, ‘but I think she’s more than complicit, as anyone who has worked for him for so long by definition is.

‘And I don’t want to be friends with someone like that.’

In April, she told Stephen Colbert that she and Ivanka hadn’t spoken in a ‘long time.’

While on Watch What Happens Live, Chelsea was also asked to weigh-in on President Trump’s performance against Democratic nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden, at Tuesday night’s debate in Cleveland, Ohio.

She didn’t mince words while commenting on the President’s constant interruptions and behavior at the podium.

‘Donald Trump is still a racist, incompetent, miserable, ghoul of a human being,’ she said, prompting laughter from her fellow guest, comedian Samantha Bee.

‘Can you be more specific?’ Andy joked.
