Bury the Bride won the Best of the Fest award at the Panic Film Fest in April.

Celebrating the win on social media, Chaz wrote, ‘I’m so thrilled that Bury The Bride, the film that produced and am in, won Best of the Fest at @panicfest.

‘Thank you to Panic Fest, and all the fans who voted for our movie,’ he continued. ‘You can now watch Bury The Bride on @tubi, which is totally free.’

‘I started liking horror as a kid,’  he said. ‘The first horror-adjacent, horror comedy that I saw as a kid that I fell in love with was Young Frankenstein. That was kind of my gateway as a young person.’

The Reboot Camp actor explained the attraction of fright films for him and others in the LGBTQ+ community.

Off beat:  ‘I really enjoy playing off beat, slightly suspect or downright horrible characters. That’s really what’s fun for me as an actor,’ Chaz , seen here in a scene from Bury the Bride told Pink News in May

‘Horror has always been slightly marginalized as a genre. I think it’s that outsider status of the horror movie, the horror fan – it’s very similar. LGBTQI people just gravitate to horror.’

‘I can only speak for myself,’ he continued, ‘ but I do think that the storytelling opportunities, the opportunities to play the different types of characters, the intensity of it – I think it’s just something that we can relate to in a different way.
