Chris Cuomo heads for a job wearing a hat for his own CNN show as he recovers from COVID-19

Chris Cuomo is back on his exercise grind, jogging in his neighborhood and spending some time alone and away from his family – with his 14-year-old son the latest to come down with the coronavirus.

Cuomo appeared out Wednesday near his Hamptons home, his first appearance since he announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

The CNN anchor was jogging on the same day that a large truck appeared to be headed to his home with gym, TMZ reports.

Cuomo’s wife Cristina, who has also recovered from the illness, revealed her son Mario has been diagnosed in a somber Instagram post paying tribute to late photographer Peter Beard and remembering Earth Day.

‘After 10 days of ups and downs, feeling good one-day and terrible the next, I am now working hard to get my son, Mario, through the virus,’ the 50-year-old magazine editor wrote.

‘My heart hurts more than my head over his infection. This virus does not discriminate.’

Cristina posted a selection of photos of Mario including one of him as a baby with her and his dad Chris.

‘While kids are more resilient, they can suffer same severity of symptoms,’ she said, adding that she was using some of the methods that worked for her to bring him back to health.

‘I’m applying a modified version of my remedies for his protocol with a focus on lots of vitamins,’ she continued.

‘Since his sense of smell and taste have disappeared, I am feeding him healthy foods that I normally can’t get him to touch. I kept a diary of the past week including my remedies and things that I did to stay sane through it all.’

Chris and Cristina Cuomo were forced to quarantine in their Hamptons mansion after both were diagnosed with COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus – Chris in late March and his wife on April 17.

Cristina had been posting regular updates about her husband’s condition on Instagram before she too tested positive.

The couple had been quarantining separately since Chris’ diagnosis with him staying in the basement and Cristina staying with the children upstairs.

Chris, the brother of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, quickly became face for coronavirus patients as he continued to host his nightly CNN show from quarantine and spoke in depth about his symptoms and the toll the illness was having on his body.

The TV anchor, 49, also appeared via video link at his brother’s press conferences to discuss the outbreak.

He made a triumphant return to the main house on Monday after he beat off the virus but was instantly mocked for staging the video.

Cuomo was criticized for filming a ‘reunion’ with his family after ‘several weeks locked in his basement’ – even though he admitted leaving his home just nine days ago.

The CNN anchor posted footage on his Instagram on Monday night showing him walking up the stairs to greet his kids at his Hamptons mansion, three weeks after he went into ‘quarantine’ to recover from coronavirus.

‘This is the dream. Just to be back up here doing normal things,’ he said as he embraced his wife Cristina, who has also since recovered from COVID-19.

But Cuomo has been accused of staging the clip after he revealed he left his home on Easter Sunday – two weeks after testing positive – and confronted a biker who asked him why he wasn’t in quarantine.

He confirmed the altercation in an interview with Sirius XM on April 13. He said he wants to be able to act like any other member of the public and told the biker to ‘go to hell’.

‘I don’t want some jackass, loser, fat tire biker being able to pull over and get in my space and talk bullsh** to me, I don’t want to hear it,’ he added.

Cristina also spoke on social media about her own diagnosis and the effect it had on her family, especially her three children Bella, 17, Mario, 14, and Carolina, 10.

‘You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice. Covid-19 got me,’ she wrote on Friday.

‘A seemingly sinus-related infection was my first symptom. But the only frustrating part is I can’t be there for my kids right now in the way they need me as Chris is in isolation too still, no fever and feeling better.

‘Bella, Mario and Carolina have grown up overnight — Bella, our 17-year-old daughter, stepped up cleaning, doing laundry, cooking for her siblings and getting them situated with google classroom, and caregiving her mother and father. Mario, her assistant,’ she continued.

‘So much gratitude for them. I can’t wait to wrap my arms around them again.’

According to her husband, Cristina’s symptoms included a loss of smell and taste, which Chris said that, based on anecdotal evidence, appeared to be more common in milder cases of the illness

Cristina was said to have taken the diagnosis in her stride and was ‘not upset’ by it.

Chris’ side-effects, meanwhile, were said to be more severe, including a fever so extreme that he chipped a tooth while shivering.

Upon emerging from the basement, Cuomo thanked their three children, for ‘stepping up and helping each other.’
