Cleaning bloggers have managed to turn having a gleaming and tidy home into a trend, but no matter how many hours you spend scrubbing, there’s always a furry friend waiting in the wings to undo your hard work.

Kimberley Ewen, 31, from Gateshead, discovered this bitter truth when her puppy trashed her living-room just as she’d got into the habit of keeping her house sparkling clean after years of not caring.

Sharing a picture of her living-room littered with papers, dog toys and even socks, Kimberley explained she used to have no problem dealing with mess, leaving a trail of dirty plates and ‘bread crumbs’ in her wake, but had changed her ways after getting into the de-cluttering trends.

In the post, shared to the Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It Facebook group, Kimberley, prompted a flood of pictures from other pet owners, who shared pictures their dogs’ naughty deeds in the hilarious thread.

Kimberley explained she spent the first 30 years of her life being one of the ‘most messy females on the planet,’ to the despair of her husband. But all that changed when she discovered cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch, which led her to finally enjoy cleaning and keeping her house tidy.

After getting two rescue pups, the home-owner said the messy dogs sometimes left her ‘twitching’ with frustration.

She shared a picture of her dog Ivy, sitting all proud in the middle of the living-room she had just trashed, leaving bits of paper and toys – including a dog bone – on the carpeted floor.

Many other pet owners shared picture of their own little trouble-makers to show they went through the same ordeal.

‘My little ‘angel’ and what we came home to today,’ said one woman showing a picture of her pup after it’d tore through her wooden floors with its teeth.

‘Think she wore herself out today remodelling the stairs,’ said another, sharing a picture of her pup sleeping next to a snap of her stairs covered in snatches pieces of wood.
