Commuter dies ‘after falling from a height’ inside Canary Wharf station as horrified witnesses describe seeing ‘blood everywhere’

  • Paramedics battled to save the person’s life but they died at the scene 
  • Horrified witnesses reported seeing ‘blood everywhere’ on the floor inside  

A commuter has died after ‘falling from a height’ at Canary Wharf station in London.

An air ambulance and police officers were rushed to the station in the capital’s finance district at around 3pm. 

Horrified witnesses reported seeing ‘blood everywhere’ as paramedics desperately tried to save them.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: ‘Officers were called to Canary Wharf station after reports a person had fallen from height at the station.

‘Paramedics also attended and a person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.’

The station was closed for just over an hour but re-opened at 4.15pm.
