Disney unveils the first sketches of its new BRIDAL line

Now you just need to find your Prince Charming! Disney launches its own fairy tale WEDDING gowns inspired by its most famous princesses, from Ariel to Belle

  • Disney teamed up with Allure Bridal on the collection, which will debut in April at New York Bridal Fashion Week
  • The designer made 16 dresses inspired by Disney princesses
  • Seven will cost $3,500 to $10,000 and be sold exclusively at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York and Toronto

Just when Disney superfans thought having a wedding dress inspired by their favorite princesses would only happen once upon a dream, the entertainment giant has teamed up with a bridal designer to make magical wishes comes true.

Allure Bridal is playing fairy godmother this spring, bringing to life wedding gowns inspired by The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and The Princess and the Frog.

With a bit of bippidi boppidi boo — and, naturally, some design savvy — the brand is launching a collection of wedding looks inspired by 16 Disney princesses.

The dresses aren't replicas of what the characters wore in the movies, but are rather just inspired by them

The collection will be launched during New York Bridal Fashion Week in April 2020, and gowns will hit stores shortly thereafter. 

Seven of the gowns are part of a Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Platinum Collection, which will be available exclusively at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York and Toronto for $3,500 to $10,000.

The other nine gowns will be priced from $1,200 to $2,500 and will go on sale at boutiques across the US.

All will come in sizes 0 to 30.

‘So many brides grow up admiring their favorite Disney Princess characters and are inspired by their journeys, gowns and stories of the classic films,’ Allure Bridals CEO Kelly Crum said in a press release.

‘Our design team worked tirelessly on each of these incredible gowns, as each dress features intricate detailing specifically inspired by the timeless characters known and loved by all of us.’

So far, drawings of just three of the gowns have been unveiled.

One, inspired by Ariel from the Little Mermaid, has a mermaid silhouette and aruffled skirt that ‘moves as gracefully as the ocean’s tide’.

Another, inspired by Belle from Beauty and the Beast, has ‘an elegant ballgown silhouette with lace detail and the perfect skirt for waltzing the night away.’

The third, inspired by Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, has sequined dimensional lace, bayou-inspired vine and blossom embroidery, and crystal beading. 

Sleeping Beauty’s Aurora, Aladdin’s Jasmine, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, and Snow White will also get the bridal gown treatment.
