Woman killed when hit by a car – as driver is taken to hospital for mandatory testing

An elderly woman has died after she was struck by a vehicle while going for a walk.

Emergency services were called to Boundary St and Wandella Ave at Roseville in Sydney’s north about 7am on Sunday, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car. 

A woman – believed to be aged in her 70s – was discovered at the scene suffering critical injuries.

Paramedics treated the woman before pronouncing her dead. 

A man, aged in his 50s, who was driving the Mitsubishi wagon involved, was not injured in the collision.

He has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established at the scene, with specialist police called in to forensically examine the area.

Police said they were trying to work out the woman’s identity. 

The intersection in question remains closed to traffic between Ferncourt Ave and Archer St.
