Erin Molan reveals her pregnancy has been ‘awful’

She was rushed to hospital last week after fainting at work due to low blood pressure.

But while Erin Molan feels blessed that her unborn child is healthy, the Channel Nine personality admits her pregnancy has been far from easy.

Speaking on Wednesday’s episode of Today, Erin sported bruised knees from her fainting spell and revealed she had suffered the same extreme morning sickness as the Duchess of Cambridge.

Erin, who is 25 weeks pregnant, was rushed to hospital last Friday after fainting at Channel Nine’s Sydney studios.

Subsequent tests revealed the Footy Show host had low blood pressure, but her unborn baby was fine.

‘I think I need to slowly learn that my body is not capable of what it was this time last year and that it does put a lot of pressure on your pregnancy,’ Erin told Karl Stefanovic and Georgie Gardner on Wednesday.

‘It takes a lot of the good out of you, having a child – in a lovely blessed kind of way.

‘In other words everything good is going to the baby inside me, and not too much left over for me.’

Erin said she was fortunate that when she fainted she had fallen backwards rather than onto her stomach.

‘Luckily my knees are black and bruised – I hit my knees, I hit my head but stomach maintained facing upwards which was good,’ she said.

The Channel Nine reporter confirmed she had suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, commonly known as extreme morning sickness, during the first few months of her pregnancy.

‘I’m really blessed, it’s been wonderful,’ Erin said sarcastically, holding up her hands in quotation marks.

‘It’s been horrendous but I feel horrendously guilty even talking about it, because I know how blessed I am to even have children … but it’s been awful.

‘It hasn’t been fun, even all the things that give me joy like alcohol, runny eggs and raw meat and sushi I can’t eat any more,’ Erin joked.

Erin confirmed last December that she was expected her first child with fiance Sean Ogilvy.

The couple became engaged in April 2017, the policeman presenting Erin with a diamond sparkler reportedly worth $100,000.
