Ex-PSG star Aminata Diallo joins Levante in first move since assaulting Kheira Hamraoui

Disgraced ex-PSG star Aminata Diallo joins Levante in first move since being charged with assaulting Kheira Hamraoui – which allegedly saw the midfielder set up an ‘IRON BAR’ attack on her former team-mate – as she pens short-term deal with Spanish club

  • Former PSG midfielder Aminata Diallo has completed a move to Levante
  • Diallo was charged with assaulting ex-team-mate Kheira Hamraoui in September
  • The 27-year-old was detained by police in connection to an attack on Hamraoui
  • She was later released under supervision but insists she had no involvement
  • Now she has put pen to paper on an initial six-month contract with Levante

Ex-Paris St-Germain midfielder Aminata Diallo has signed for Levante just over three months since being charged with assaulting former team-mate Kheira Hamraoui.

Diallo, 27, was charged with aggravated assault in September after being detained by police in connection to an attack on Hamraoui by two masked strangers in 2021.

After a team meal in November of that year, Hamraoui was travelling home as a passenger in a car driven by Diallo, before she was dragged from the vehicle and beaten on her legs with an iron bar.

Hamraoui, 32, was forced to undergo stitching on her arms and legs in hospital after the attack.

Diallo was arrested at the time of the incident before being released without charge, and after being rearrested 10 months later she was then released again under judicial supervision. She still denies any involvement in the incident.

During that time, PSG chose to release Diallo upon the expiry of her contract in 2022, but now she has put pen to paper on a deal at Levante.

The Spanish club confirmed on Monday that a short-term deal until the end of the season, which also includes the option of a further year, has been agreed with the player.

Diallo spent six years at PSG before her departure last year, winning the French Cup in 2018 and also reaching the Women’s Champions League final.

Over the past three years, she has also enjoyed loan spells in America with Utah Royals and in Spain with Atletico Madrid.

At the time of her second arrest in September, a report from the Crime Prevention Brigade of the judicial police of Versailles, extracts of which were published by French newspaper Le Parisien, claims Diallo developed a ‘real hatred’ towards Hamraoui, with one message allegedly found on her phone claiming she wished ‘them all pain’, referencing their team-mates at PSG.

‘She considered her an obstacle to her own sports career,’ the report says.

It also goes on to suggest that it has been a ‘slow psychological drift that has become, so to speak, pathological.’

Police are said to have bugged Diallo’s phone and the judicial report alleges that she searched for a ‘dangerous drug cocktail’ as well as ‘how to break a kneecap’ in the lead-up to the attack.

Hamraoui, meanwhile, is still on PSG’s books and has racked up 10 appearances this season.
