This is the horrifying moment a policeman and his partner are savagely beaten by youths in a brutal attack on a south London street.
In the remarkable clip, posted on Twitter by a bystander, two men can be seen punching and the pair of officers as scores of people pass the scene without intervening.
The footage, believed to have taken place in Croydon on Sunday night, shows attackers wearing hoodies dragging one of the policeman away from his patrol car and kicking him.

A policewoman can then be seen trying to drag the attackers away from her partner but without success as one of the men brutally kicks her to the ground.
In the background a number of people can be seen walking past the scene without stepping in to help as the brawl unfolds before their eyes.
A routemaster bus also drives straight past the chaos without stopping to assist the officers.
Eventually, with the help of an heroic moped rider, the officer manages to get the attacker off him and pins him down ready to arrest him.
The video was uploaded to Twitter alongside the caption: ‘South London at night.. Lol’.

As the attack unfolds several witnesses and a routemaster bus can be seen going straight past without intervening
But the poster drew criticism after the clip went viral, with some netizens slamming him for not helping the officers.
‘Not even the slightest bit funny. If it was the other way round, there’d be riots in the streets lol. Have some respect,’ one person tweeted.
While another said: ‘Shame on you for filming this and not trying to help.’
And one user commented: ‘ How people can find this funny is beyond me….. and to film it and not even bother to help!! These people would be the first to ask for services when needed!’

An heroic moped rider eventually manages to get one of the attackers off the officer during the fight
