The TV personality admitted she has gone to ‘great lengths’ to hide her skin and detailed the effects it has had on her confidence.

Georgia’s appearance came ahead of the release of her new documentary, Georgia Toffolo: In Search of Perfect Skin, which aired on ITV2 last Wednesday.

Detailing the impact the issue has caused, Georgia said: ‘I don’t think i would have had the confidence to do my career because of my acne before.’

Discussing the topic on the morning show, Georgia – also known as Toff – said: ‘Acne starts when you’re really young, in your formative years. Mine started when I was 13, I’ve been open about it and gone to great lengths to hide it.’

Georgia explained how she would wear layers of make-up to cover her spotty and scarred skin, admitting: ‘I hid behind it for so long’.

Lorraine told Georgia she had no idea she had struggles with acne, and Georgia said: ‘It’s wonderful to hear you nothing of me and acne together. When you suffer with something like this your acne is all-consuming.’

Georgia also referenced the psychological effects of the drugs which are prescribed to treat acne.

She also spoke to a mother whose teen killed herself when on the medication, and said: ‘It makes me really emotional now talking about it.’

Georgia has shared snippets from the documentary on her Instagram page

Alongside a clip from the show, Georgia, said: ‘Let’s bare some skin, it’s time to stop hiding and be honest with what we’re going through.

‘Can’t wait for you to see what I’ve been working on for so long!’

The clip reveals how Georgia’s acne journey started with ‘a few teenage spots’, before turning into ‘problematic severe acne’.

Georgia heartbreakingly revealed her feelings towards herself included ‘hatred’ and ‘anger’.

The reality personality also shared a montage of clips of her skin at different stages and drew on the importance of being ‘vulnerable’.
