A source told The Chronicle that ESPN rented a black Nissan sport utility vehicle for Rodriguez.

Officer Adam Lobsinger, a San Francisco police spokesman, said someone broke into the vehicle between 9pm and 11pm – A-Rod and production staff were believed to have been having dinner after the broadcast.

Earlier in the day A-Rod took to Instagram stories and shared a snap of himself at the stadium.

He captioned the photo: ‘I can’t believe they pay me for this??? They call this work??’

The theft came as his other half – J-Lo – wrapped up her final concert of her It’s My Party Tour in Russia.

A-Rod shared a photo of the singer in a white bikini basking on the beach to Instagram and sent her a supportive message on Sunday.

‘Baby, I know you’ve been killing it in Russia and you’ve got one more show to go. Miss you and I can’t wait to see you back at home! #SeeYouSoon #Macha13.’

Her tour ended Sunday in Saint Petersburg.
