A teenager who was allegedly stabbed to death with a hunting knife cried ‘I don’t want to die’ as passed away in the arms of a stranger.

Jack Beasley, 17, was allegedly stabbed in the chest in an altercation with a group of teenagers in Surfers Paradise on Friday night.

He passed away in the street before police arrested and charged a boy, 15, with murder on Saturday.

A chef who nursed the dying boy in his arms described Jack’s heartbreaking final moments.

Chef Zac Saimoun, who was working across the road at an Italian restaurant, jumped over a barrier and performed CPR in a desperate attempt to save his life.

‘He just said ‘it hurts, it hurts … I don’t want to die’,’ the chef told The Courier Mail.

Mr Saimoun explained that Jack had been left to die alone, his friends having scattered to avoid police.

‘I just heard the commotion and looked over – there was a big bunch of blokes wrestling and grabbing each other’s T-shirts and some punches,’ he added.

‘Then everyone bailed, scattered. I saw one fellow clutching his chest and blood on his hands. I just ran over and helped him as best as I could.

‘Everyone had left him, pretty much. I didn’t realise he’d been stabbed until I’ve seen all the blood when I got over there.’

While trying to keep Jack awake, the Mr Saimoun said he offered to call his mum.

The chef tried to keep pressure on the teenager’s wound and started performing CPR on his lifeless body, which he said revived him.

But Jack then died around five minutes later, he explained, saying the ambulance ‘seemed to take forever’.

Last night a 15-year-old boy from Waterford was charged with murder and acting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Tributes have been left near the scene by devastated friends and family.

‘Gone way too soon my brutha… it feels like yesterday we were roaming the streets getting into trouble. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Fly high and rest easy my brother,’ one person wrote.

Detectives says the brawl involved about 12 youths and occurred on Surfers Paradise Boulevard between Hanlon and Trickett streets.

Another 17-year-old boy from Pacific Pines was also stabbed but is in a stable condition.

Investigations are underway to determined what caused the altercation between the two groups with police having already spoken to a number of teens involved.

It is understood the two groups were not known to each other.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have been involved in the altercation or witnessed the incident to contact police.
