Homeless woman ‘bashed and stomped on’ during attack in Goodna, Ipswich

Hunt underway for a man who bashed and stomped on a homeless woman, leaving her with a broken nose, fractured eye sockets and a shoe imprint on her cheek

A homeless woman has been left battered and bruised after a sickening attack.

Police found the woman with horrific injuries on the morning of April 12 in bushland in Ipswich, Queensland. 

On Sunday, officers released CCTV footage with the hope of finding the person responsible.

 

The 49-year-old woman was found in bushes near a shopping centre in Goodna, with a broken nose, split lip, fractured eye sockets and bruising.

Police said the woman was even found with an ‘imprint on her cheek believed to be from the sole of a shoe’, Nine News reported. 

CCTV footage showed the homeless lady talking to an unknown man earlier in the evening.

The pair were filmed talking, with the man taking a seat next to her.

The woman, who has all her belongings resting on a wheelchair, eventually walked away from the man, who police believe may be able to help with their inquiries.
