Police handset maker Hytera warns support from its Chinese parent is needed despite making a profit

Chinese-owned Hytera – which supplies police handsets in the UK – has raised a ‘going concern’ notice on its financial accounts for the third year in a row.

Hytera Communications UK said there are ‘material uncertainties’ relating to its ability to trade without financial support from its Shenzhen-based parent despite making a profit and dialling up sales growth of 80 per cent to £18.5million.

The firm owns Cambridge-based police radio handset maker Sepura.

It emerged last year that Hytera was one of five Chinese companies – including controversial telecoms firm Huawei – which are blacklisted in the US.
