Some Facebook users defended the ute driver, arguing that the motorist with the dashcam had plenty of time to stop.
‘What part of the braking lights couldn’t you see…. the flashing or the solid?’ a person said.
Another person added, ‘zero effort made to stop and avoid the accident.’
‘What didn’t the car behind have breaks. You could stop a loaded road train in that time,’ one Facebook user said.
Others simply branded him an ‘idiot’.

One person stated that the dashcam motorist did not make any effort to stop their car
Other people on Facebook argued that the ute driver was at fault because they illegally overtook the motorist before ‘brake checking’.
‘He clearly overtook illegally then slammed the brakes on. That is dangerous driving,’ one Facebook user said.
Another person said: ‘Brake checking is illegal. Ute driver is a knob, and rightfully being held accountable for the accident.’
‘If you brake-check, you’re a dead set flog,’ one user said.

Another user ridiculed the ‘hindsight warriors’ arguing that the dashcam motorist had enough time to stop their car
Some argued that the dashcam driver did not have enough time to stop.
‘It is a 12 second video,’ one said.
‘Three seconds is all it took from brake light to crash. Plus dash probably makes it look further away than it actually is – hence the wider gap between the next car from them. Stop being d***s and blaming the dashcam driver.’
Another said: ‘Hindsight warriors out in force with the usual ”should of kept distance, could of been avoided.”’
