Inside the Oscars: All the moments you did NOT see from the ceremony – from nude John Cena’s lightning wardrobe change to panicked Emma Stone running backstage and Ryan Gosling’s sneaky return after his spectacular I’m Just Ken performance

While Emma Stone’s shock win for Best Actress and John Cena’s nude onstage sketch entertained viewers on the Academy Awards broadcast, plenty of entertainment goes unseen by the TV cameras.

The three-and-a-half hour show hosted by Jimmy Kimmel saw several headline-making moments but some with an all access pass showed off stuff that happened during commercial breaks.

Perhaps nothing from the ceremony itself, outside the awards, surprised viewers as much as actor and wrestler Cena’s naked reference to the 50-year anniversary of a streaker named Robert Opel running onto the stage at the ceremony, interrupting late actor-presenter David Niven.

However, behind-the-scenes footage posted to social media showed that Cena wasn’t completely naked, as he wore more than just the on-stage envelope to cover himself.

One reporter noted that Cena was wearing what’s known as a ‘modesty pouch’ as ‘fully nude is too racy for TV’.

One outlet was able to show the process as the nominees were announced while Cena eventually covered up with a gold toga to conclude the presentation.

Elsewhere, a lot was made of Emma Stone’s surprise Best Actress victory for Poor Things, with many seeing Killers of the Flower Moon star Lily Gladstone as the favorite.

Behind-the-scenes snoops caught Stone in a panicked reaction backstage following her win, the second Oscar of her career as she ran to greet a friend in the same dress where she claimed to suffer a ‘wardrobe malfunction’ ahead of her speech.

One of the more anticipated moments outside the awards was Ryan Gosling’s performance of his Barbie musical number, ‘I’m Just Ken,’ which he turned into a massive song and dance number that wowed the crowd.

The Best Supporting Actor nominee brought the ‘Kenergy’ and donned a sparkling pink suit as he exuded confidence onstage – accompanied by his Barbie co-stars and Guns N Roses guitarist Slash, 58.

While the performance began with Gosling wearing shades and sitting in the audience alongside Barbie star Margot Robbie, he was quickly seen getting off stage following the performance to greet his mother.

After giving her a hug, he was then reunited with co-star Robbie who congratulated him on the performance.

Gladstone’s loss to Stone was considered one of the biggest snubs of the ceremony, with Stone herself appearing stunned.

A photo taken during commercial showed no hard feelings, as Gladstone smiled while gathering with Stone, fellow nominee Annette Bening and Barbie star Margot Robbie.

However, after the show, Killers of the Flower Moon director Martin Scorsese – himself having notoriously only won once for Best Director – went straight over to his star to console her.

The pair embraced in a big hug and kiss as Gladstone greeted several other well wishers.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph emotionally kicked off the Oscars as she broke into tears as she earned the coveted Actress in a Supporting Role for The Holdovers.

She had tears running down her face as she earned a standing ovation for her crowning moment as she began her speech by saying: ‘God is so good. God is so good.

‘I thank you to all the people who have stepped in my path and have been there for me, who have ushered me and guided me. I am so grateful to all you beautiful people out here. For so long, I’ve always wanted to be different, and now, I realize, I just need to be myself. And I thank you. I thank you for seeing me.’

After the speech and during a commercial break, several gathered around Randolph – a first-time nominee and winner – to congratulate her on her victory and her speech.

He was only briefly seen but often heard during the ceremony, but announcer – and award-winning actor – David Alan Grier made some noise as he warmed up his audience before the show.

He joked that while they wouldn’t be seeing him on the broadcast, the In Living Color comic said they should ‘admire my body’ because he was ‘a real zaddy’ to big laughs.

Grier also reportedly joked to the crowd of Hollywood stars: ‘Don’t f*** this up.’

As far as the actual awards went, Oppenheimer stood above all as biggest winner of the night with seven including top honor Best Picture and major wins for Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., and Christopher Nolan.

Al Pacino announced Oppenheimer as the Best Picture winner without bothering to name all the other nominees.

Cillian Murphy won the Oscar for Actor in a Leading Role after being nominated for an Academy Award for the first time in his career as he triumphed over Bradley Cooper, Maestro, Colman Domingo, Rustin, Paul Giamatti, The Holdovers, and Jeffrey Wright, American Fiction.

Robert Downey Jr. finally won the elusive Oscar in the Actor in a Supporting Role category for Oppenheimer after sitting stony-faced as host Kimmel made a very awkward quip about his drug use.

Billie Eilish and brother Finneas O’Connell took home Barbie’s lone award in the Outstanding Original Song category for What Was I Made For?
