ITV is DOWN: TV channel crashes leaving users across the UK with pixelated video and bad sound quality

ITV appears to be having issues this afternoon, with viewers reporting problems accessing its TV channels.
According to DownDetector, the problems started at around 15:20 BST and are affecting viewers across the UK.
While the reason for the outage remains unclear, of those who reported issues, 90 per cent said they were having problems with live channels, while 10 per cent said they couldn’t access the website.
MailOnline has contacted ITV for comment.
Initial reports indicate that the problem may be with ITV channels on Freeview.
Replying to one user’s complaints on Twitter, the Freeview account wrote: ‘We are aware of issues with ITV channels just now. We do not have any more info as yet. We do recommend not retuning.’

While some users are experiencing a total blackout when trying to watch ITV, others have reported a pixelated screen.
Viewers in Bristol, Sheffield, Essex, Teddington and West Yorkshire have all complained about being unable to watch ITV in its normal quality.
Several have taken to Twitter to discuss the outage.
One user wrote: ‘what’s up with all the itv channels? Have sound, no picture.’

It comes just over two weeks after Channel 4 was forced off air for 30 minutes by a ‘technical fault’.
Thousands of people reported issues with the main channel, Channel 5 and subsidiaries including e4, 4more, 4film and 4music.
Some had problems with a ‘black and green’ flickering screen.
