The motion picture ‘is rumored to take place in the 1960s,’ when Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby initially released the comic book quartet, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Silver Surfer character was debuted in the 48th edition of the Fantastic Four ‘as the herald of Galactus, a planet eating entity,’ according to the outlet, though that incarnation was identified as alien astronomer Norrin Radd.

Garner’s purported version for the forthcoming film will be a separate surfer who was romantically-linked to Radd.

The Silver Surfer character was played by Doug Jones in the 2007 motion picture Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, with Laurence Fishburne providing the voice.

The Riverdale, New York native captured a trio of Emmy awards for her portrayal of Ruth Langmore on the Netflix hit Ozark in 2019, 2020 and 2022, also garnering a Golden Globe for the role in 2023.
