Katie Price hits back saying the RSPCA has ‘no concerns’ about animal welfare at her home

Katie Price hit back at critics today, claiming the RSPCA has ‘no concerns’ about the welfare of animals at her home – after a seventh pet died in her care.

The 45-year-old former glamour model’s black German shepherd dog Blade was killed by a car last week, which Katie has now claimed was a ‘sick attack against her’.

The star – who recently split again from her fiancé Carl Woods – has lost several pets over the past six years, including now five dogs, a horse and even her chameleon, Marvin.

Animal charity PETA attacked the star on Tuesday saying she has ‘blood on her hands’ and a petition to ban her from owning any more animals has received more than 33,000 signatures.

But Katie has now hit back and said: ‘Update. RSPCA have been up to my house not having any concerns about my animals and never have or had.

‘But we are trying to put together how Blade has been killed and his last steps as this is a deliberate target to kill him’.

It comes after Katie confirmed she’s once again split from on and off boyfriend Carl Woods.

Katie and Carl were last seen together at the end of last month as they celebrated her birthday in Brighton.

Sharing a photo of herself sporting short black hair, she wrote: ‘Extensions out ready for new transformation literally had so much s**t thrown at me and being single now and now dealing with the suspicions my dog had been killed deliberately so being investigated I need a massive change and move in my life.’

PETA Vice President of Programmes Elisa Allen told MailOnline: ‘After a seventh animal died in her custody, Katie Price should be facing more than the court of public opinion.

‘PETA urges authorities to look into Blade’s death and reminds the public that it’s not just Price who has blood on her hands.

‘Greedy breeders who keep selling or “gifting” animals to her are also to blame.’

A representative for Katie has been contacted by MailOnline for further comment.

Katie announced Blade’s death on Monday as she wrote on Instagram: ‘Words can’t express the lost of my best friend my protector my absolutely everything who had sadly passed away today.

‘I have no words to say how I’m feeling but numb and shocked rip Blade.’

Blade’s death comes just seven months after another of Katie’s dogs, Sharon, was killed on the same road.

The petition to ban Katie from owning more pets was launched three years ago, and within a year signatures rose to 10,000.

In the wake of her pomeranian Sharon’s death – after the dog escaped through an open gate and was knocked down – in November 2022, the petition gained another 16,000 supporters.

The critics behind the petition wrote: ‘A puppy has died in the last 24 hours in Katie Price’s care. She bought this puppy for her 13-year-old child three weeks ago, which was killed in an accident no one witnessed…

‘In the last five years more animals have died from lack of care. Horses, dogs, cats, lizards, hedgehogs. This isn’t a single family tragedy. It’s a common thing in Katie Price’s home. Two dogs have been ran over…

‘Puppies were found dead drowning in a neglected swimming pool. A horse was run over on a motorway. Animals just go missing in her home never to been seen again. Her guard dog broke into her neighbour’s garden and killed their chickens…

‘A dog trained to attack people. Also ripped her cat apart. The neglect [is] seen on her show My Crazy Life. Cat poo with mold growing on it. Dog poo just left on the floor. Clothes dumped all over the place…

‘Alger [sic] growing in her pool where her puppy drowned. She jokes about her mucky mansion. But it ain’t a joke that animals are dying from her lack of care…

‘Being left alone to meet untimely deaths and nobody is saying “enough is enough” and carry on selling her animals. Three weeks a bulldog puppy named Rola was in her care…

‘Nobody knows, including her, how it died. We need to stop this now no more animals need to die.’

Following the update, sources told The Sun: ‘It’s shocking to see the conditions those poor dogs are living in…

‘After all that’s happened with Katie’s pets in the past, you’d have thought she would be going above and beyond for her dogs, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

‘She might have renovated her home but the dogs don’t appear to be benefiting from it and still live in squalor.’

Sharon was killed when she allegedly escaped and ran on to the road where she was hit by a car. She was picked up off the A24 by the driver and taken to Arun Vets in Pulborough, West Sussex, where her death was confirmed.

In 2020, Katie’s pet dog Rolo suffocated in her home, while her Alsatian Sparkle was mowed down in February of the same year, in shocking echoes of the death of her dog Queenie, who was killed in 2018.

In July 2020, Katie was criticised by animal rights activists after Rolo’s suffocation. The French bulldog died after getting stuck in an electric armchair while the reality star was packing some bags in another room, reported The Mirror.

Rolo was given to her daughter Princess as a birthday present.

Katie later revealed her shock after she was illegally advised to give her late puppy Rolo cannabis oil before he ‘suffocated to death in an armchair’.

Katie told The Mirror that she was unaware that it is illegal to give dogs the substance without a veterinary prescription, in accordance with the The Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013.

One of Katie’s horses was tragically hit by a car and killed in 2017 after escaping from a field.

And in 2018 her dog Queenie was struck and killed by a delivery driver.

At the time, she wrote: ‘I’m absolutely devastated, heartbroken, my faithful loving family dog’s life Queenie has been shortened as she was killed by a heartless delivery driver who ran into our dog seeing her struggle and drove off without telling us and left her to die very disappointed a human being can be this heartless! [sic]’

It was claimed the driver worked for Domino’s pizza, but a spokesman said at the time: ‘Our investigation revealed our driver inadvertently called Ms Price’s property via the security gate intercom, whilst trying to make a delivery to a neighbour.

‘Upon realising the error, GPS tracking reveals she went straight to the correct address. Our driver remained on public roads and had no access to Ms Price’s land.

‘Our driver holds a clean, valid EU driving license and maintains she did not hit an animal. She has voluntarily contacted the police but has been told no criminal charges are pending. We want to understand what happened and have asked Ms Price to share the CCTV to help our investigation.’

‘Unfortunately, despite repeatedly requesting, we’re still unable to get a crime reference number or sight of the CCTV Katie mentioned, to help our investigation.’
