The shocking post, from a parent in Darwin, appeared on the marketplace website at about 9pm on Saturday.

‘Kid for sale fitty bucks,’ the listing read.
‘Can deliver/drop off. Or pick up. Gender male. Identifies as a three meter flatty (fish).’
The young boy was listed for sale under ‘Outdoor toys’ – which also had scooters, swings and outdoor play houses for sale, NT News reported.
One social media user said they were shocked when they came across the post.
‘You find all sorts of quirky things but I wasn’t expecting to find a boy for sale.’
The post appears to have been removed by Sunday night after sparking outrage online.
It violated the Gumtree terms of service agreement, which states: ‘We do not accept ads selling body parts/bodily fluids, adoption or surrogacy anywhere on the site.’
