King Charles III held an audience with King Felipe VI of Spain at Clarence House today.

The monarch, 74, met with the Spanish king, 54, in the Morning Room during an audience at his royal residence in London.

Charles paired his single breasted checkered suit with a dusky pink tie, with a white diamond pattern, and matching square, while Felipe looked dapper in a dark navy suit and royal blue tie. 

The visit comes ahead of Felipe’s Spanish Chamber of Commerce event this evening, where he will celebrate the chamber’s 135th anniversary.

The Spanish Chamber of Commerce ‘plays a pivotal role in the commercial and economic relations’ between the UK and Spain, according to its website.

‘Its main role [is] to assist in the development and promotion of commerce and investment between Spain and the United Kingdom,’ a statement on the site added.

The pair were pictured in the King’s London residence, after he announced that he would not be relocating to Buckingham Palace until renovations have been completed.

King Felipe VI is in the UK to attend events for the 135th anniversary of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the UK. He will attend a gala dinner tonight at The Landmark Hotel. 

The Spanish Camber of Commerce said: ‘The event marks a significant milestone for our institution, reaffirming the strong bilateral ties between the United Kingdom and Spain. 

‘On this historical day, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce reiterates its commitment to strengthening the relationship between both nations.’

The Spanish royal was recently in Croatia alongside his wife Queen Letizia of Spain, 50, on a two-day official visit. 

The visit was to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations and signing a memorandum to reinforce cooperation between the two countries.
