Liam Gallagher hits out at Brit Awards bosses in rant

He is one of the most famous faces on the music scene who is known for his abrasive attitude.

And Liam Gallagher didn’t hold back as he hit out at the Brit Awards via Twitter on Friday after they rejected his request to perform at the upcoming ceremony.

The Oasis frontman, 45, who famously swore, dropped his microphone and gave his award to the crowd during his acceptance speech at the Brits in 2010, labelled show bosses ‘too scared’ to have him among the line-up.

He tweeted: ‘So the Brit awards have ballooned it again.

‘All I wanted to do was play LIVE but there too scared too cosy the cheeky c**** asked me if I wanted to host it are they having a laugh (sic).’

One fan told the Wonderwall hitmaker Noel would have ‘jumped at the opportunity’ to which an irked Liam replied: ‘Course he would him and his Mrs they’d be all over that exactly why I run a mile ewwww.’

When contemplating the prospect of being a host, he joked: ‘I ain’t setting there table cooking the food then doing the dishes f**k that I’d rather be stung by a heard of goats (sic).

He added: ‘I get it I’ve had my time and it was fun but don’t ask me to come smile and clap some whopper.’

Liam is up for British Male Solo Artist at the awards on 21 February, having made a comeback to the music scene.

The rocker is known for his erratic behaviour at the ceremony, on receiving an award  for the best album of the past 30 years in 2010, Gallagher swore while he thanked all the former members of Oasis except for his brother.

He then dropped the microphone and gave the award to a member of the crowd as the audience gasped.

Liam will compete against Ed Sheeran, Loyle Carner, Rag’n’Bone Man and Stormzy in the Best British Male Solo Artist category.

In 2009, Liam and brother Noel, 50, who formed Oasis, disbanded in a sensational fashion, when Noel quit after a backstage blow-up.

On the band’s website, Noel admitted his relationship with Liam had become unbearable and caused him to walk out.

‘It is with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer,’ he wrote, explaining his abrupt departure.

In the years since, the pair have had a number of public spats, including Liam blasting Noel by calling him a ‘sad f**k’ on Twitter in 2017 after the latter didn’t perform at Ariana Grande’s benefit concert.

However in an interview with Nova’s Summer Breakfast Show  earlier this month, Liam confessed he wouldn’t rule out trying to patch things up.

‘We should never have split up — that’s the only thing,’ he said.
