Lion cub which was discovered abandoned in a car

A lion cub who was abandoned in a car at a Turkish security checkpoint has been named ‘Brave’ by his rescuers.

Since he was found struggling in the province of Sirnak, a sprightly looking Brave has been pictured playing with his new primate friend.

The cute images, taken in Gaziantep Zoo, show the little cat getting up close and personal with a monkey named ‘Can’.

Officials at the Wildlife Protection Department said Brave was around one-month-old when he was rescued.

They had to feed him with a special blend of lactose-free milk to slowly build up his strength, Hurriyet Daily News reported.

‘We add quail eggs and baby formula to the milk,’ said rescuer Celal Özsöyler, adding: We feed the baby eight times a day.

‘When he first came here, he was in bad condition; he had been newly separated from his mother. We have strengthened him with vitamins that built up his body’s resistance.’
